Ascent the city path and leave the vibrant life of the lower city behind you. Pass a gate and find yourself in the medieval part of the town.
The city wall dates back to the 13th century and large parts of it have been preserved. About 1250 the Counts of Montfort founded the upper part of the town and extended it towards Lake Constance.
